Creates a category in Content Studio and in the underlying file system.

Syntax

	SessionId sessionId,
	string xmlParameterData,

Parameters

connectionId
Type: ContentStudioConnectionId
A value that identifies the web site
sessionId
Type: ContentStudio.SecuritySessionId
A value that identifies the user's session. This value usually originates from a call to OpenSession(ConnectionId).
xmlParameterData
Type: SystemString
XML that contains the parameters that this call uses. This XML is according to the Content Studio parameters XML schema
status
Type: SystemInt32
An integer indicating result of the call. Zero is success.
statusText
Type: SystemString
The textual representation of the call result.

Return Value

Type: Int32
The id of the category created.
Content Studio permissions

Write container permission on the category is required to update a category.
Remarks

This method is intended to be used by the Content Studio Web API only. Programmers are recommended to use on of the overloaded versions of this method that are far more easier to use and does the same thing.
This implementation does not throw any exceptions, instead callers must examine the outcome of the call in the status and statusText output parameters.
CS 5.1: The optional MaxContentSize"/> and AllowedFileTypes parameters are supported. AllowedFileTypes should be a comma separated list of file extensions e.g. .doc, .txt, .pdf
